Marketing Proposal Templates

A marketing proposal template lets you describe the campaigns you will run, the deliverables each month and how results will be reported. Clients want to know what they are paying for and how they will know it is working.

What to include in a marketing proposal

  • Goals and how success will be measured
  • Channels and the deliverables for each one
  • A content or campaign calendar
  • Fees, with any ad spend listed separately
  • Reporting schedule and what is in each report
  • How approvals work and how fast the client needs to respond
  • Contract length and how to cancel
  • Payment terms and acceptance

An example of a clear scope

Each month: four blog posts of about 800 words, eight social posts across two platforms, one email newsletter and a one-page performance report delivered by the fifth business day of the following month.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Promising specific results that you cannot control
  • Mixing ad spend into your fee so it is unclear what you earn
  • Not defining what a report contains
  • Having no approval deadline, which stalls the work
  • Leaving cancellation terms out
